Our ‘Grab and Learn’ competition has come to an end! Names of winners:
1. Laura Kassebeer
2. Aryna Luzhynskaya
3. Julian Stotz
The new competition ‘Grab and Learn’ is a vocabulary-based game found in the Learning Resources section of our website. The competition is going to be run between the 15th of December 2011 and the 31th of January 2012
.
In total there are 5 parts to the competition; Food Supplies, Sinking Ship, Animals in Danger, Aliens in School and Household Trouble. Each game has three different difficulties: easy, normal and hard. To complete a level avoid the sharks, aliens and other weird creatures trying to eat you. On completion of each level you will obtain a ‘secret word’. The winner of the competition will be the person that successfully obtains all 15 secret words and sends them to us within said time period.
In the event of no one completing all 15 levels the winner will be the person with the most correct words, giving heavier weighting to words from more difficult levels. If two or more people are tied at the top they will be forwarded onto a lucky draw to decide an outright winner.
We wish you the best of luck!! (Not sure how to play? Check out our Video Demonstration)

Oh!!!
I`m so happy to become the winner and will certainly use the opportunity given!!!!!!!!!
Spain, i`m coming!!!!!! - the winner: Marina Celikovskaja.
Never, never in my life have I seen the human race reduced to such desperate, cheating measures to get their hands on a coveted prize. On 30th August 2011, ISLA launched a competition via Facebook whereby the 1000th person to add us as a friend would win one week´s course, accommodation, and a highly fashionable ISLA T-shirt (hasn´t quite hit the shops yet) FREE.
Well. The status was posted and cyber chaos ensued. We had sly emails begging for the prize to be given away directly to `special´ friends, others hastily removing and re-adding us as friend, even one cheeky beggar (this really was a stab in the back) suggesting half his friends list, I would suppose so he could notch up the total, only to sneak in at the last minute to grab the prize for himself.
The hype was so great that these blatant cheaters were even leaving comments bragging about their evil plans. Pitiful. A squalid day for true friendship. :-)
Dreams were made to come true, however, on a scale equal to Who Wants to Be A Millionaire, for one Marina Celikovskaja.
Lucky devil, you didn´t even have to prove you possess exceptional general knowledge. We look forward to seeing you in the near future. :-) To all the other bitterly disappointed competitors, never fear, this opportunity will come again. Although personally, I think we should make you work for it. But nobody listens to me. So keep checking out our facebook and twitter pages for more information on future competitions- until then, keep your friends close, and your enemies closer, be they real or virtual…
