Spanish School Salamanca, Academia Isla

Our spanish school in Salamanca opened in May 1990.

Location: The school is right in the centre of town, just steps from the Gran Vía, Salamanca's main street, and about 5 minutes walk from the Plaza Mayor. This is the "old" part of town where Salamanca's most attractive sandstone buildings are located.
The Plaza de los Basilios is a very pretty square with tall trees and is bordered on one side by the beautiful San Esteban Convent. During class breaks, students enjoy sitting here or going to one of several nearby cafes/tapas bars.

Facilities: The school buildings comprise 10 classrooms, a teachers' room, 3 offices and a library/multimedia room with internet. There is space in the school entrance hall to have a coffee or cold drink from the machines, read the newspaper or consult the school notice boards.

Comment: Suits those seeking a traditional Spanish university city and for those who like everything within walking distance. Nightlife is amazing, cheap and "popular" rather than cutting-edge. Students meet up at school a lot for activities, going out etc. Social life is usually intense but life generally easy-going.
