ISLA Barcelona opened in February 2003
Location: The school is located in Barcelona's fashionable and central beach-side quarter, the Villa Olímpica, 2 metro stops from the old town. It is a clean and safe area with many trees and attractive modern buildings. ISLA Barcelona stands on an attractive tree-lined square, 10 minutes from the metro station and 1 minute from the beach. In the summer most students (and some teachers) come to class with a towel under their arm. There are several cafes, restaurants and shops nearby. Facilities: The school buildings comprise 6 classrooms and a library/ multi-media room with internet. The square is a pleasant place to sit during class breaks and a reception area with hot and cold drinks machines, newspapers and school notice boards. Comment: Good for those seeking a dynamic, cosmopolitan big city by the sea. Public transport is a fact of life as in most large metropolitan cities. Students rely on ISLA for tips for self-discovery/ticket booking more than hanging out at school. Unending choice of entertainment and venues means energy required to make the most of city (though some people choose to just chill on the beach!). |
