Hola

ISLA's General Spanish Courses

" The teachers are such great fun and the relationship you share with

them isn´t the traditional one of distance that I was used to England

but more one of good friendship. This means that you learn loads but at

the same time don´t really realize how much you´re taking in. " Freddie

General Spanish Courses

The core of all our General Spanish courses is the Compact Spanish course which comprises Grammar, Skills and Vocab. To this students can add Extra Speaking ( Intensive Spanish Course ) and Culture ( Intensive Plus Spanish Course - extra speaking + culture ) and Individual Lessons. You might find it helpful to know that anything that has the word "Plus" in it means that there is an extra Culture module and anything with "Power" means an extra daily One-to-One lesson.
* Which course could be deemed the Standard one?  Probably the 4 hour Intensive Course.
* Which is the cheapest?  Compact Spanish.
* And the one with the most lessons? Power Plus.

GRAMMAR SKILLS AND VOCABULARY This is the core part of the course in which students study the grammar, vocab and skills corresponding to each level as set out in detail by our syllabus. Course material is closely controlled so learning is organized and varied too.

EXTRA SPEAKING As for most people this is both the most challenging and the most desirable skill, most of our courses contain this extra module which gives students the chance to train accessing new knowledge for active incorporation into their own speech.

SPANISH OR LATIN AMERICAN CULTURE The Culture module offers an overview of Spanish and Latin American literature, art, music, history and popular culture. Lessons are conference-style with question and answer time. Students with little or no Spanish can also follow this course as they study in a separate group with cultural material appropriate to their level.

ONE TO ONE Participants can decide on the content of their one-to-one's themselves or ask their teacher to devise a program most suited to their needs. All students with One-to-One's are requested to fill out the Specific Needs questionnaire in advance of arrival so their lessons may be planned accordingly.
