" While I was at ISLA I got to practice and apply my Spanish.

I thought the balance between theory and talking was just right.

  • Las Metepatas

Watch, learn, smile

"Meter la pata" is a very colloquial term which is similar in meaning to "to put your foot in it" in English but more in the sense of making a mistake than commiting an indiscretion. In this short movie the students are the "Metepatas" and the teacher is their "Corrector" The Metepatas: Tine, Kasper, Marie-Helene (Denmark, A2 level)) and Tony (Hong Kong- B1 level) "El Corregidor" Carlos Maroto (ISLA Spanish teacher)

ISLA Educational Video, Name:Metepatas

Created, written, produced and directed by ISLA's Spanish teacher Alberto.
Music: Polka, Benny Greb
The movie has two objectives: the first is to be a fun workshop type activity in which they participate voluntarily. Secondly, it is the first in a series of ISLA's educational videos for
students who want to improve their Spanish. There are 3 scenes and then grammatical explanations in Spanish and English. You'll find this movie in Spanish Study Resources and also on the ISLA Channel on YouTube.

If you have any comments or suggestions to make, please send these to info@academiaisla.com The movie was a smile to make and that is our philosophy: for students to have fun learning Spanish at ISLA..
