10 Reasons why is ISLA a Good Choice

" I absolutely recommend ISLA. Smaller classes, very skilful teachers,

good management, friendly environment and the books and program

followed to teach Spanish are excellent." Bora

Why to choose our Spanish School?

1) Teachers
ISLA teachers form a long-standing and consolidated team. This is fairly rare... and makes a difference. Career Spanish teachers are proud of and passionate about their craft and have a keen interest in new methods and training courses. Their commitment to the profession - they are in it for life and not just for a summer - and their years of experience with learners of all ages and stages, mean untold benefits for their students.

2) Philosophy.
ISLA has a welcoming environment where every effort is taken to do things with care and flair. Everyone appreciates good service and kind treatment and apart from delivering on these basic things, at ISLA we like to add a few nice surprises be it a pot luck dinner, mini magnums on a hot day or help and care beyond the call of duty.

3) Team.
The ISLA people who will look after you are picked for and qualified for their specific roles. And like most people who are great at their job, they love it too. This benefits everyone as it is always nice to be surrounded by cheery faces, particularly if you are on holiday. And while the office team will always encourage you to talk in Spanish, if one day you need to speak in English, Italian, French or German you’ll get a reply rather than a blank stare.

4) Committed to your Spanish
This is why you are here, after all. You want to notice a dramatic “Before” and “After” in your Spanish. ISLA’s good variety of courses will mean that you can pick the one that suits you best.
Being placed in the right level is very important – for you to make maximum progress you must not be rushed and stressed … or be off in daydream because of lack of a challenge.  So, if you test in as an A2, you will be placed in an A2 group even in the unlikely event that you are the only student of this level.

5) Lessons & Materials
Students are given carefully selected text-books rather than endless and indiscriminate photocopies so learning is methodical and organized. ISLA’s syllabus is based on the EU’s common established levels of European languages (one of their better ideas).
And like all great teachers ours make their lessons leap off the page so students participate actively and with relish.

6) Accommodation changes
In the unlikely event that you should want to, you can change your accommodation without pleading or penalisation.

7) Hidden costs & hidden benefits.
ISLA is not Easyjet and thus there are no hidden costs like a registration fee, accommodation fee, credit card fee etc.
In fact, more than hidden costs, ISLA has hidden benefits like free post course study support (a lot of our courses include a free video conference and you can always email the heads of study with your “dudas”), free travel arrangements and advice (whether it’s during your course or a few months later) and free glossaries, CD’s, badges and posters etc.

8) DELE guarantee
DELE is recognized worldwide as the official Spanish qualification and being able to provide proof of your Spanish knowledge might benefit you on day. If you are a DELE candidate you are in extremely capable hands with ISLA. 93% of our students achieve a pass, usually in the 90’s. In the extremely unlikely event that you are not successful you get another DELE preparation course for FREE

9) On site owners
On site owners in a single location often mean a pretty tight ship and animated team. Dieter and Amanda are passionate about Spain and teaching Spanish and this shows at ISLA.  Meet them here.

10) Cervantes accreditation
The Instituto Cervantes is an official organisation in charge of the Spanish language and its proliferation around the world. In the interests of guaranteeing excellence in Spanish teaching they have introduced an accreditation scheme involving an exhaustive inspection of schools seeking recognition. ISLA is proud to have been one of the first centres in Spain to receive official Cervantes accreditation and has achieved consistently outstanding scores in follow-up inspections.
